We just bought a lunar 460/2 today (2015) - I don’t understand the “unlined” shower - surely it’s still waterproof?

What's the purpose of doing these with the highest spec models? If a low spec can do it, then you're assured already the higher can too. If the higher spec can do it, you're unclear about how the lower specs will perform. Silly.

Great Video, and impressive towing and handling, jus one thing in question, how is it that you can tow such a large caravan with a car having a maximum tow ball down weight of 90kg. I assume the caravan specifications are also a draw bar weight of similar or less. Then there is the question, how is this figure affected with damaged roads, doesn't this apply a greater down load on the draw bar ? Cheers

so let me get this right. you pulled. 1256 kg × 2.20462 lb/kg = 2763.45 pounds with a normally aspirated 2.0 liter Mazda3? I've been looking at the US versions Mazda3s wondering about towing around 1000 to 1500 lbs sparingly wondering if it's a good decision?

As a driver of articulated trucks for much of my working life, I scratch my head at these tutorials that show keenness to bend the trailer ‘blind side’ on. Whenever I had the opportunity to reverse by bending the combination to the right, I would certainly take that choice of the two. This means simply looking at where the right rear wheels are heading for, by leaning out of the window, steering with my left hand and with my right arm leaning on the window frame. The bad choice of ‘blind side-on’ as it’s known to truck drivers, is called so, because you have no direct view of what’s happening except that tiny view from left mirror glass. So, if you can, always begin by passing with your parking space to the right, look deep to the back of the space and take a photographic memory of whether there are any obstacles around or at the rear, then draw-up to a stop some distance past the bay (but always give yourself a good distance to play with), then reverse slowly, keeping up a steady momentum. The ‘turning the wheel the correct ways’ part of it, is just going to take time to practice and develop a natural instinct. Don’t be frustrated. Anyone who says they got it straight away and never had a forgetful moment since, is just not being honest. To start turning, first turn the wheel a certain amount until the combination begins to bend, then while moving backwards with the combination still bent, turn the steering wheel back to centre. As you watch where the trailer is looking to land, if it needs more or less steering, then you simply add a little more right or left hand down as required, but then always return the steering wheel to centre. Never hold the steering wheel fully locked for more than a short while when reversing. This will lead to having to ‘over-work’ by steering frantically to go from lock-to-lock over and over. Remember, long trailers are easier to reverse, because they turn slowly. Short trailers ‘whip’ around, sometimes faster than you can straighten-up the whole combination. I would recommend going out to a large, empty parking area and having a practice before setting of on holiday.

Hi, just noticed your video on Caravan pipes. I’ve got an Adria caravan with shower cubicle at the rear and only a plug hole in one corner of the tray.. so when levelling my caravan, I have to make it slightly lower at the front and one side slightly higher then at least the water gathers into the corner of the shower tray. One other problem of course in doing that is that my kitchen is at the front of my caravan so that water has to try and go uphill slightly, but I’m living with that. The waste pipe they use is no more than an inch in diameter. Looking at your video. Would you agree if I replaced it underneath the caravan with standard Plumbing pipe is the thinking the wider the pipe will give me a better flow.Thanks mike

It is very Clever! I have the 2021 model. I looked at all the comments on internet, mostly junk comments I must say! So i started an excel sheet and made my own data. So far 3 weeks in. I am massively saving emission and saving money. I would recommend a full EV. But as a stepping stone I would very much recommend to all. You must plug it in every night though. I am a Wise Man with a science degree. The Inside of the car is dated, they need some 20 year olds in the development team but is what is. I am doing around 100MPG if you include electricity that is much cheaper on night tariff. Note that electricity in the night has much less carbon emissions too. I am averaging around 50 Grams per KWH. The car does between 2 to 3 miles per KWH, not bad for an SUV type. In whole I am saving over 50% in cost and more in CO2. C02 ABOUT 80% LESS PER MILE.

Not worth it. At 6pm everyone disappears to watch Corry or read Mills and Boon. No atmosphere, expensive, difficult to get a booking, as all the pensioners book a year up front without having to make a deposit. In summary, "Quality, Car Park style Morgues". One positive is that the Team do help you to book trips abroad when coordinating site and ferry bookings. We have found that independent sites and use of PitchUp enables us to go away when we want to and for much cheaper. No need to pay someone to mow the grass 3 x per day. One year membership was enough.
